Our favourite looks from Gucci S/S 2019 collection

We could never think of a dance belt could be this sexy and dazzling and the Gucci S/S 19 collection of menswear proved us wrong where it might just be the most provocative one to date under the helm of Alessandro Michele.

This season, Alessandro Michele steered clear of bizarre props and had our eye solely on the designs instead. He made sure that the menswear had equal limelight as the women’s collection by churning out ’70s-centric looks replete with fringes, diamond-esque accessories, gleaming of metallic colours, super low-cut leotards and startling appearance of the dance belt.

Among all that, there are a few moments rang in our head that make the highlights for Gucci this season.

Logomania

The 90s logomania trend made a comeback recently and are gaining ground among the designers. At Gucci, Michele went all out and gave us a full shiny logomanic look.

Colour-blocking

The colour-blocking style is back again for the Gucci show, where Michele playfully mixed a fuchsia double-breasted suit with a sea green turtleneck and colour-blocking fringed pants, making sure his Gucci fan will not be missed in the public eye.

Metallic Fringes

From sparkling fringed necklaces and colour-block fringed pants to fringe decor on the glen check suit, we are in love with the mix of western influence and metallic glam of Gucci.

Dance belt

If you ask us what really stood out for us, it will be the dance belt. Blending with the aura of the theatre-turned-nightclub Théâtre Le Palace, which was a free-spirited hideaway for the Mavericks to dress up and hang out with like-minded people, various dance belt designs including leather, rhinestone-esque and studded styles were seen jazzing up the collection.

Revealing cuts

The 70’s inspired titillating collection drew inspiration from two Italian theatrical visionaries, Leo de Berardinis and Perla Peragallo who were known for their provocative theatrical works. Verging to the provocative influence, Michele created the deep v cut leotard and denim chaps to celebrate the men’s physique.

And now, we can’t wait to reveal our favourite picks from the Gucci S/S 2019 collection. See the gallery below!
