Marriott International Liquid Masters Champion 2019 – revealed

Recently, we witnessed 19 master mixologists from nine Marriott International brands – namely The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, W Hotels, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Le Méridien, Westin, Renaissance Hotels and Tribute Portfolio – across Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam showing off their skills at the adrenaline-filled second instalment of the Marriott International Liquid Masters 2019 competition at ABar of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park.

Over three days, the participants went through various workshops, challenges and team building activities designed to develop the most important skills of their crafts such as engagement, teamwork, knowledge and enthusiasm. The grand finale saw them redefining the art of mixology with their new signature cocktail using premium Craft Collective spirits comprised of Nusa Caňa Tropical Island Rum, Nouaison Gin, Diplomatico Rum, Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal and Giffard liqueurs.

The grand prize was awarded to 22-year-old Giri Asta from The St. Regis Bali from The St. Regis Bali who walked away with a customised bar tool kit worth USD $600 and a surprise prize – an all-expenses paid trip to one of Southeast Asia’s best bar cities, a two-night stay at a Marriott property and a guest shift at the city’s best bar.

Additionally, Namfon Jarensawang, represnting Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, was named winner of Best Cocktail of the day. The judges included renowned Asian cocktail consultant, Sam Jevons; Asia brand ambassador of Mr. Black, Arlene Wong; and local guest judges from ELLE Thailand, Kasidit Srivilai and GQ Thailand, Vasachol Quadri.
