adidas x Gucci: Italian glamour meets athletic chic

It all started with Gucci Aria, an internet-breaking collaboration when two of the biggest names under Kering Group — Gucci and Balenciaga — came together for Gucci’s 100th anniversary, officially heralding the era of power collab. After lingering over the lustful aftertaste, Alessandro Michele once again teamed up with another juggernaut in fashion world: the proprietor of the “three stripes”.

Though adidas has worked with countless brands and designers, this particular partnership of adidas x Gucci marked a new chemistry for the German sportswear giant, that perfectly blended the athleisure of the German sports brand and ’80s Italian glamour of Gucci. Under the spell of Alessandro Michele, adidas Trefoil and “three stripes” fuse with signatures of Gucci the likes of Interlocking G, Horsebit, Web and GG monogram across eye-catching ready-to-wear and accessories. Items like summer-ready staples jogger pants, flared pants, bowling shirt and polo shirt are now reinterpreted for modern requisites in future-conscious polyester, cotton and viscose, and bold shades.

To celebrate the upcoming launch of the Exquisite Gucci collection on June 7th at Gucci Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, gucci.com and adidas CONFIRMED app, the Italian fashion label has enlisted photographer Carlijn Jacobs to shoot the lookbook. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s archival catalogs, the Italian glamour-meets-athleisure collection is brought to life with the dynamic poses of models, backdropped against brightly-coloured setting.
