Hamilton reunites with N. Hoolywood after a decade

N. Hoolywood’s founder Daisuke Obana has a fervent admiration for Hamilton’s military spirit and it was his idolatry that united the two for a successful collaboration back in 2009. A decade in, the two cross paths again with a second collaboration.

Paying homage to the original soldier’s watch worn by service members in the 20th century, the Khaki Field Automatic N. Hoolywood Special Edition 2021 is part of N.Hoolywood’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection titled Test Product Exchange Service, where the collection draws inspiration from “Exchange Service” retail stores catered to U.S. service members.

The watch is minimal in every sense of the word, making it a perfect foil to the brightly hued collection. The 40mm black PVD stainless steel case is treated with sandblasted finishing, harmoniously coordinating with the black matte dial and black Nato strap with black PVD matt pin buckle. To create a restrained contrast to the predominantly black watch – which Obana deems a colour of responsibility, precision and accuracy – the minute track, 24-hour numeral ring and watch hands are decorated in bright white Super-LumiNova coating.

As one looks closely, the detailings of camouflage heave in sight and can be found on the anthracite Arabic hour numerals, Hamilton logo and the tail of second hands. The caseback of the limited edition timepiece is also printed with “Watch, wrist: General Design by N.HOOLYWOOD/Hamilton”, calling to mind the original version.

Powered by automatic H-10 movement with 80-hour power reserve, the Khaki Field Automatic N. Hoolywood Special Edition 2021 with a limited amount of 300 pieces boasts 100m water resistance and is available for purchase in Japan, Korea and Taiwan only.
