Valentino to present co-ed Men’s and Women’s Spring 2021 show in Milan

Valentino is leaving Paris Fashion Week and will present its co-ed Spring/Summer 2021 collection, both Men’s and Women’s, at Milan on September 27th instead.

The pandemic has put many fashion brands in a crunch situation and prompted them to make grudging decisions including cancelling presentations, postponing shows and opting out from the prescribed fashion calendar.

Prioritising safety, the Italian fashion house has decided to move from Paris Fashion Week — where it presented its collections for the past decade — to Milan Fashion Week. The decision is graspable as the brand is headquartered in Rome and less travelling will reduce the risk of transmission and carbon footprint.

“In the current scenario, we need to make decisions in advance to protect our first resources, our people, and to allow our brand to remain relevant exploring alternative opportunities. This is why we feel that it would be more ethical to produce the new show in Italy, in Milano. We strongly believe that this project will contribute to underline the importance of being part of a fashion system represented by both the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, shares Jacopo Venturini, CEO of Valentino.
