Dior joins forces with Vespa to create an exclusive scooter

As we continue the fight against COVID-19, Dior keeps us fantasising about the awesomeness that is the great outdoors that many of us used to take for granted. The Dioriviera summer capsule, which collaboration that started before the global crisis, reveals a modern-day streamlining of the 2012 iteration of the Vespa 946 Christian Dior.

The scooter is adorned with the Dior Oblique motif complemented by the exclusive beige colour created together with Dior’s creative team, as well as the gold detailing. The blue leather saddle – supported with a Dior monogram fabric upholstery – matches the handles also covered with blue leather. The left side exhibits the “Dioriviera” and the right side the “Christian Dior” logo, not to mention the initials “CD” printed on the hook under the seat. A collection of accessories comes with the Vespa 946 Christian Dior, including a helmet and a top case. Powering it is a 125cc single-cylinder engine fitted with three air-cooled valves and electronic injection, made possible by Piaggio’s cutting-edge technology.

Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the capsule also features the iconic House codes – from toile de Joy to the Dior Oblique pattern – in its women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories. Lady D-Lite, Dior Caro and Dior Book Tote bags, D-Connect sneakers, Dior Granville espadrilles and Dway mules as well as DiorClub ponchos, scarves, jewellery and visors are accompanied by new sailor tops. Rounding up the sunny wardrobe are Small clutches and vanity bags with interchangeable shoulder straps.
