Hublot returns with another collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto

Back in May this year, Hublot and Japan’s fashion trailblazer Yohji Yamamoto, who has made waves with his subversive approach to fashion since the ’80s, have come together for a collaboration to celebrate the opening of Hublot’s new flagship Boutique in Ginza, Tokyo. The result of the collaboration between two pioneers was Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto, a masterpiece that perfectly blends the signature aesthetic of Yamamoto and exceptional craft of Hublot.

The two seem to be bonded that they decided to create another spark with a new collaboration: the Big Bang Camo Yohji Yamamoto. Segueing seamlessly from its all-black creation, the Big Bang Camo Yohji Yamamoto alludes to Yamamoto’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection with a camouflage adornment, which the designer deems to be an epitome of paradox.

It was the shared values ingrained in them that have yielded this collaboration and they are visible in this particular creation. Informed with a sense of modern urbanity, the 45mm microblasted and polished black ceramic case with a sapphire dial plays host to camouflage motif formed by a set of superimposed outlines while unveiling the UNICO Manufacture Self-winding Chronograph Flyback Movement lying beneath.

Bearing Yamamoto’s signature at 6 o’clock, the watch is also decorated with an all-over camouflage strap done using vulcanisation method, a technology that Hublot introduced to the watchmaking sector for the first time in 2019 – an alternative black fabric strap with microblasted black ceramic buckle clasp is available. On its back, the watch is engraved with “LIMITED EDITION 200NUM”, indicating its limited number of 200 pieces.

Powered by Caliber Hublot HUB1242 with 72-hour power reserve and 10 ATM water resistance, the Big Bang Camo Yohji Yamamoto is priced at RM 90,500.
