As ideas surrounding love and commitment continue to evolve, so does the way love is translated into art. The Cartier LOVE bracelet was first introduced in 1969, replacing traditional jewellery codes with an industrial look secured by screws, transforming commitment into something tangible. Designed by Aldo Cipullo, the bracelet was to be locked onto the wrist with a dedicated screwdriver, challenging the idea that fine jewellery was reserved for special occasions, instead becoming an everyday symbol of permanence.
What was once synonymous with romantic devotion has now grown into something far broader. The new LOVE bracelet marks friendships, family ties, personal milestones, and even acts of self-expression. Rather than belonging solely to romantic relationships, the bracelet has become a personal emblem, reflecting the many forms love can take throughout a lifetime.

And with that, Cartier’s latest LOVE capsule embraces that evolution through colour. Instead of reinventing the bracelet’s silhouette, the maison reinterprets its symbolism across six new references. Three feature ribbons of pink sapphires, blue sapphires, or tsavorite garnets, punctuated by diamonds where the signature screws once sat. The remaining designs replace those screws with graduated gemstones, combining pink and yellow sapphires, spessartite garnets, amethysts, aquamarines and tanzanites in both warm and cool palettes, marking the collection as one that preserves the bracelet’s iconic architecture while giving it an entirely different emotional language.
Previous iterations of the LOVE bracelet explored new precious metals, pavé diamonds, and refined proportions, yet they remained rooted in a restrained identity. This latest chapter introduces colour as a reflection of individuality. Each gemstone composition carries its own character, suggesting that love, much like identity itself, cannot be defined by a single expression.

Cartier broadens the conversation surrounding it rather than redefining the LOVE bracelet entirely. The screws that once represented commitment now share the spotlight with colour, allowing one of jewellery’s most recognisable designs to speak to a new generation. More than 50 years after its debut, the LOVE bracelet still symbolises permanence, but now acknowledges that love is not singular. It is personal, evolving, and expressed in every shade imaginable.
