When it comes to makeup that looks good IRL and even better on camera, Rachel of PLIKA Make Up rarely misses. As the professional make up artist behind countless campaigns, editorials and fashion week appearances, she’s built a reputation as one of the industry’s most trusted names. For the Grooming Awards 2026, she’s opening up her kit to reveal the products, techniques and skincare essentials she reaches for time and time again.

What does your makeup kit look like?
I like to keep mine pretty clean and organised. I’ll always curate the products I bring on set depending on the client.

A staple in both your work kit and personal makeup bag?
The Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation. I’ve used it for years and it’s still one of my favourites. It blends easily, looks great both in person and on camera, and gives a natural finish without feeling heavy.
Spill your in-flight travel essentials.
A box of mints, a soft, clean perfume, and a refreshing sheet mask for when the skin needs a quick reset.
Share are a runway look that lives rent-free in your mind:
The beauty looks from John Galliano Fall/Winter 2007.
What’s your pro-tip to prevent skin from looking greasy or cakey in a humid climate?
A good setting powder makes all the difference. I’ve been using the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Pressed Powder because it keeps shine under control without taking away the skin’s natural finish. It doesn’t look heavy, even after a few touch-ups.
Do you have a “makeup ick”?
When people don’t clean their brushes. Hygiene is important!
One product you would recommend to a beginner?
The Prisma Flash Lip Balm from Armani Beauty, cause you can’t go wrong with a glossy finish for everyday wear.
Skin prep often makes all the difference — what’s your go-to skincare trick for achieving a smooth and hydrated base?
I’ve been using Goteskin’s Hydrating Moisturiser because it leaves the skin soft and balanced without feeling too rich, so makeup sits beautifully on top. A well-hydrated base changes everything.
