Helmed under creative director Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton debuted their LVERS perfume in 2024 to much fanfare. LVERS, masterminded by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and under the direction of Williams, is a woody and aromatic eau de parfum that was conceived as an olfactory extension of his design vision for the label.
The fragrance itself is a study about transformation. Drawing attention to nature’s reaction to light – photosynthesis, Belletrud composes a scent of living energy: galbanum, cedarwood, sandalwood, bergamot and ginger. These notes, using ingredients historically known as healing remedies, evoke the sensation of freshly cut grass, leaves being kissed by the sunlight, and warmness of sun-soaked wood. Beyond a scent, LVERS somehow manages to distill light’s vital force in a 100ml bottle.
Marking its first anniversary, Louis Vuitton unveils an exceptional copper version of the fragrance. When Pharrell debuted his first ready-to-wear collection, he introduced a series of copper plated hard-sided trunks — a (literal) reflection of sunlight, warmth and airiness. This design language carries over to define the new LVERS Copper Edition flacon, released in an ultra limited run of 30 pieces available worldwide. Forged by special artisans near Florence using an ancient lost-wax casting method, each bottle is a one-of-a-kind object engraved with the house’s signature LV monogram, before being polished to a glowing finish. The copper patinas, and the finish evolves over time with its wearers, a perfume bottle that gives its owners the opportunity to age gracefully together with them.
The copper bottle — both functional and a collectible — echoes the house’s copper-lined travel heritage and blends it with Pharrell Williams’ creative language for the brand. Radiant, light, sun-spritzed. The lived experience is now a part of luxury. Journeying through life, offering up a symbol of time — as simple as a copper flacon, may be the most poetic one yet.
