A little ribbon can go a long way. For Spring Summer 27, Jonathan Anderson gives Dior’s classic running shoe a signature of its own with the Dior Ribbon, a slim, pared-back sneaker with a strip bearing the House’s name running along the side or tucked discreetly into the sole. It is a neat bit of design, putting the branding right where it belongs without turning the shoe into a billboard.
The rest of the sneaker plays with contrasts. Leather meets suede, metallic detailing adds a little gleam, and technical finishes keep things firmly in modern-day territory. The colour palette swings between vibrant shades and more subdued tones, while select versions come dressed in the unmistakable Dior Oblique motif. Lightweight and made for everyday wear, the silhouette feels familiar without being forgettable.
Anderson does not need to reinvent the running shoe to make it interesting. Instead, he gives it a distinctly Dior signature, built into the design rather than stamped on as an afterthought. The shoe remains recognisably a running shoe. It just signs off differently.
