Callum Turner seems to have cracked work-life balance: a game of chess here, afternoon tea there, a little golf, and plenty of time for the dog. Naturally, the whole affair calls for a Louis Vuitton wardrobe. In the house’s latest campaign, the British actor and Louis Vuitton House Ambassador plays a business traveller on a well-earned break, making even the most mundane pursuits look like an art form. There is also a rather sizeable canine companion, because what is a day off without a little company?
Photographed on film by Gregory Harris in New York City, the campaign stars Turner in the second Trunk Edition, a Spring Summer 27 menswear collection designed by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams. Across a series of cinematic portraits and short films, Turner is caught reading the news, perfecting his golf putt, taking tea, and even freshening up. Leisure, it seems, can be quite the discipline. Pray tell, who said doing nothing had to look this good?
The wardrobe sticks to the classics, with shirts, slacks, and jackets in crisp cotton-silk poplin, double-face cashmere vicuña, and indigo-washed cotton-cashmere denim. Close-ups let the fabrics and finishing take centre stage, while discreet VVN Louis Vuitton signature tabs keep the branding low-key. The clothes are polished without feeling precious, striking a balance between traditional tailoring and modern comfort.
Pharrell’s take on dandyism extends beyond dressing for a grand entrance. It is also about bringing intention to the everyday, whether that means expressing yourself or trying on another character for the day. Even reading the morning paper deserves a little ceremony. And if Turner is anything to go by, we could all stand to zhuzh up our days off.
The Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 27 Men’s Trunk Edition is available in stores worldwide and online.
