Gardens were a perennial source of inspiration for Christian Dior. Throughout his lifetime, the couturier-perfumer sought to recreate the tender memories of his childhood spent in the gardens of Granville, a place he considered his true paradise. Guided by this vision, Monsieur Dior designed several estates where he planted hectares of fragrant flowers, vineyards and fruit-bearing trees. Yet among all this splendour, the Château de La Colle Noire remained his most beloved.

Nestled in the Grasse countryside, La Colle Noire became his peaceful retreat, where he spent hours sketching designs for his collections. Each year, more than one hundred and fifty almond trees would come into bloom at the end of winter, offering a spectacular view that he never grew tired of. This almond orchard, which he so cherished, later became the inspiration behind Dior Paradise — a fragrance created by renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian to celebrate the founder’s life in the South of France.

The scent unfolds as a luminous, nature-infused composition — both delicate and radiant, with the creamy warmth of tonka bean that lingers on skin. At its heart, it reveals a soft, enveloping sweetness where syrupy nuances meet the powdery, slightly bitter facets of almond blossom, while vibrant notes of lime, mandarin and orange bring a citrus freshness that evokes the first days of spring. Diffusive and serene, the fragrance captures that fleeting moment at winter’s end, when nature begins to awaken.
