To “Gemini” Norawit Titicharoenrak, the appeal of youth has never been perceived as an advantage by virtue of vitality and desirability. Instead, it signals the abundance of opportunities that lie ahead, allowing for newness and boundless instances to learn. Across interviews, he demonstrates an awareness of his youth, but does not reduce himself for the sake of feigning modesty. He knows that he is 22 — not “only”, not “just”, but wholly present in his age. Time is on Gemini’s side, but he does not intend to take it for granted.

When it comes to Gemini, there is a sense of ease that fits all hours and all seasons. Be it on or off stage, with a bowl cut and sequinned outfit, in front of Kendall Jenner or a familiar podcast host, you see different facets that tint his underlying personality — exuberant and cheeky at times, earnest at others. Much like the CHANEL J12 that sits on his wrist, these different sides do not contradict one another, but stand as timeless elements that bring him closer to those who pay attention. Fans do not just gush over his on-screen personas or sultry vocals, which are applied across smouldering R&B beats or heartwarming ballads; they embrace all of him.

The ease in question did not materialise from sheer free will or stubbornness to have things done his way. In fact, akin to the soft, yet resistant build of the J12, tenderness in his approach has allowed life to mould and stretch to greater heights; all the while being able to withstand the high pressures from external onlookers and those who believe in his potential. Having attributed his entry to the industry to a strict mother who recognised his talents before he did himself, there is a softness to this tough exterior, in wanting to honour his mum’s faith in him. Gemini acknowledges that she is both his biggest critic and supporter, and the bond they share has only strengthened with time. It is less about vying for verbal compliments and spoken affirmations. He does it all to create a comfortable life for his family.

Pragmatism propels him forward, driving him across the many ventures he undertakes, from acting and singing to running his clothing label, Divine. Proclaiming himself as someone who gets bored easily, these different quests allow him to satiate his curiosity and find his way in the world. After all, has anyone truly figured out their calling at the age of 22? It is also the willingness to fail and make mistakes. “You never lose, you either win or learn,” is how he sees the world — the dissatisfaction from a bruised ego may fade, but the lessons are forever his to keep.

Gemini also leads his life with a sense of practicality. Claiming to be an unromantic person, he does not consider floral bouquets to be great gifts. Rather than battling the transient, ephemeral nature of flowers that begin to wilt as soon as they are plucked and pruned, he opts for something more concrete like fragrances as symbols of his affection. Out of a sea of acquaintances, he only considers two special individuals as close friends who allow him to be himself. Upon getting to know Gemini a little closer, you notice that it is the lack of a hard front that allows him to express himself freely, even if some facets are reserved only for those who are closest to him.
Some idols thrive by being a tough book to crack, made mysterious by insurmountable lore and a lack of immediacy that their audience can extract gratification from. Gemini defies that approach without appearing like an open book, presenting himself in ways that feel true to him; at a pace that keeps him going further, for longer.
