Just as this year will go down with much to say in the history books, Spring/Summer 2026 is bringing about the pivot generation of fashion. The bases of creative direction have entirely shuffled about, and all our eyes are on Paris. We clutched our pearls for Jonathan Anderson’s Dior womenswear debut that landed right between the house’s rich history and his hand for defining the current culture. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, after sharing Loewe’s allure with the world, brought it home to the house’s Spanish roots. Miguel Castro Freitas, now at the helm of Mugler, reframed the borders of the brands’ material experimentalism.

And what of Glenn Martens’s first Margiela ready-to-wear collection, Duran Lantink for Jean Paul Gaultier, or Pierpaolo Piccioli for Balenciaga? All who are embracing different bits of themselves outside the parameters of the house, but also the parts engulfed within it.
