It’s the time of the year again. Kim Jones has served up a summery Beachwear 2021 capsule brimming with positive vibes. Influenced by the whimsical universe of Kenny Scharf whom the creative director collaborated with for his Dior Men’s Autumn 2021 collection, the pieces are a good blend of vintage, sportswear, fashion and casual, simultaneously incorporating patterns of the American artist.
Comprised of an array of holiday essentials, the capsule which carries a nonchalant silk shirt and a swimsuit, as well as a bandana – comes to life with Scharf ’s famed Viva Mare Viva Mar painting of aquatic creatures. Exuding funky retro attitude of the Seventies, the lightweight and relaxed cut wearables include T-shirts, polo shirts, shorts and bathrobes are embellished with Dior Oblique motifs in tone-on-tone and terry cotton, as well as play on transparency.
Tracksuits are iterated in blue or white and feature a rubber “Dior” logo. Leather goods and accessories, outfitted with plenty of functional detailing and metal accents underlining the luxurious motif, also pronounce a celebration the simple life. In terms of motif, the Saddle clutch or a refined boat bag adorned with the Dior Oblique jacquard subtly works its way into the Dior Paradise espadrilles.
The Dior Atlas sandals now in white is without a doubt a must-have in our book this season. Last but not least, the Beachwear 2021 capsule is rounded up by a bottle in steel may be worn crossbody thanks to the leather and Nylon should strap.
