Stories and releases in the world of horology often involve new watch models and movements, which makes TAG Heuer’s announcement of its new rice-of-beads bracelet a welcome one.
This year, the watchmaker reintroduced a signature bracelet from the 1960s, once again tapping its archives of cool designs for fans to enjoy. The Formula 1 Solargraph is one such example. And just like how TAG Heuer made tiny changes to fit the times — 35mm to 38mm for the Formula 1 Solargraph — it did so again with the rice-of-beads bracelet, to carry a more contemporary look.

One feature that instantly catches the eye is the single-bead instead of double-bead configuration. As a result, the bracelet looks sleeker than its 1960s counterpart. But this isn’t a question of which is better, just different. Each bracelet carries its own charm. One has eternalised the spirit of the 1960s while the other pays homage to that era in its own way.
This seven-link steel bracelet combines polished and brushed finishes, with a butterfly clasp featuring a minimalist TAG Heuer emblem. It is a perfect choice for anyone looking to dress up the Carrera Chronograph, the watch that the rice-of-beads bracelet was specifically designed for.
The upside of bracelets of this build is that smaller links generally mean greater comfort, from its ability to articulate better on the wrist. With its unique looks and practicality, this bracelet alone would make a great addition to the collections of any TAG Heuer fan. And if nothing else, it is a great way to mark its design journey through the decades.
