The collection highlights six elements that perfectly showcase his unique design vernacular through substantial materials, pronounced forms and earth-inspired tones. The uniqueness is evident on AGATE, CAVITY COAT, STONE CLOUD, QUARRY, WOOL LIKE LIGHT, and CASHMERE WINTER GEAR.
Inspired by the intricacy of formation of stones, AGATE is a collection characterised by mesmerising pattern created by layering paints and pressing them with uneven force often found in nature. CAVITY COAT takes cues from the natural erosion of caves, where the sublimity of speleology lays the groundwork for deconstructed pieces defined by double layered construction and large openings. STONE CLOUD, on the other hand, takes on the natural formation of rocks and detachable element, transposing the beauty of indifference into highly versatile pieces that can be easily mixed and matched to create different layered looks.
Beyond the norm-defying shapes and designs, functionality has always been at the forefront of Issey Miyake’s design philosophy — a hallmark that has been informing the brand from the get-go.
