Dior launches Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior sneakers

“I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields. To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.” – is how artistic director of Dior Men Kim Jones described the partnership. It was during the Autumn 2020 show in Miami when Jones unveiled the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior sneaker.

First released in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 is a classical-modern mashup. Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan and celebrating the first Dior men’s show in the United States, the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG fuses the everlasting appeal of the shoe with the emblematic style of Maison Dior, drawing attention to the combination of American and French culture as well as haute couture and high- performance sportswear which conjure up a new hybrid look. The distinctively undeniable Jordan Brand’s footprint is combined with the energy of a Dior gentleman.

And this is what Martin Lotti, Jordan Brand VP of Design said about the collaborative venture: “Every collaboration we do starts from a genuine connection and desire to expand the dimensions of each brand through creativity and design innovation. Our partnership with Dior will offer a new look in basketball style and blend high-end streetwear with luxury fashion. We will pay homage to both brands’ rich iconography and draw inspiration from our heritage.”

Modern and embodying ultimate creative freedom, the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior sneaker is made in Italy with the finest calf-Italian leather, hand-painted edges in the shade of Dior Grey, iconic Nike Swoosh filled out with the Dior Oblique motif – a powerful, timeless code, transparent soles with a Jumpman Wings logo punctuated with the words “Air Dior” on the one foot and “Dior” on the other. A half-sized version of the emblematic Dior Oblique motif is also laser-etched into the insoles.
