Givenchy dropped a surprise collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger

The Pitti Uomo 96 was nothing short of creativity or surprises and one who made its mark at the recent Milan Fashion Week Men’s shows is Givenchy.

During its Spring/Summer 2020 collection presentation, Givenchy has also launched a special design collaboration with Japanese footwear label Onitsuka Tiger. This also marks the first global collaboration project done by Givenchy with an outside sneaker manufacturer and brand.

A hybrid of couture savoir-faire and Japanese expertise in leather craftsmanship, the collaboration reworks the design of an Onitsuka Tiger classic, the Mexico 66, and creates two brand new variations of the Mexico 66 GDX.

The first is an all-white version featuring iconic ‘Onitsuka Tiger stripe’ and ‘Givenchy’ in perforated lettering; whereas the black iteration bears the same details with the signature stripes in white outline and leather crossed stripes in red.

To commemorate the special collaboration, each pair of the sneaker comes with a back tab that is inscribed with the names of the collaborative duo.

The special collaboration sneaker is now available at Givenchy and Onitsuka Tiger flagship stores, Line pop-up in Japan, Givenchy’s online store as well as selected social media.
